Building a beautifully British brand with Thomas Alexander Homes

The client

Thomas Alexander Homes is a boutique property developer known for crafting high-quality, thoughtfully designed homes across the Southeast of England. With a passion for detail and a commitment to British heritage aesthetics, their properties reflect timeless charm with a modern sensibility.  

The challenge  

When Thomas Alexander Homes first approached us in March 2024, their existing website was built on Squarespace, limited in functionality, difficult to customise and lacking property listings feature.  

At that time, they were showcasing only two developments, with no scalable digital infrastructure in place to support their rapid growth. The client came to us with a single request for a new website.  

However, it quickly became clear that a more holistic brand transformation was needed to align their digital presence with the calibre and style of their homes.

Our approach

Without a formal brief, our creative lead Alex took initiative by studying the showhomes themselves, interiors styled by the talented SW Design Group Ltd and used that as inspiration for the website’s creative direction.  

Drawing from cues like British heritage design, Nancy Meyers aesthetics and Emma Bridgewater patterns, Alex developed a concept website that not only captured the personality of the homes, but also hinted at the potential for a broader brand refresh. 

Instead of immediately suggesting a brand overhaul (which could have felt overwhelming to the client), Alex presented the new website concept with a refreshed visual identity, including an updated colour palette and elevated design language.  

The client loved it and opted to go ahead with the brand refresh, retaining only their existing logo.

Deliverables

What began as a website redesign quickly evolved into a full-scale creative partnership. Over the months that followed, we worked closely with Thomas Alexander Homes to support their growth with a wide array of brand assets and tools.

Digital

We delivered a custom website with full property listings, development pages and CMS functionality, seamlessly integrated with COINS. We created tailored email campaigns to support buyer and prospect communications.

Brand development

A brand refresh with updated colour palette, typography and guidelines. This included an eco sub-brand with logo, illustrations and flyer, integrated into the main identity, plus a signature collection sub-brand with a bespoke booklet and social assets.

Design collateral

Development brochures showcasing individual projects, stationery, letterheads, pricelists, leaflets, welcome packs, handover documents and reservation booklets. We also created branded touchpoints including a signature reed diffuser for buyers.

Illustration & creative assets

Custom house type illustrations, sitemaps, community maps and local wildlife drawings, along with seasonal assets such as a luxury Christmas card and a childrens ‘Little Builders’ colouring book for family engagement.

Signage & social media

On-site signage designs for developments including hoardings and banners, paired with cohesive social media templates to keep our clients brand consistent online and offline.

Scaling up, a collaborative journey

Since our initial engagement, Thomas Alexander Homes has grown at a remarkable pace.

From just two developments in early 2024, they’ve expanded their portfolio significantly, scaling up their operations, team and marketing. And whilst we take no credit for their own relentless determination, high-quality builds, and positive work ethic, we’re proud to have supported and enabled that growth with a strong, scalable brand and design foundation that reflects their values and ambition. We’ve been there every step of the way, acting as their design and digital partner on demand.

Bespoke illustrations add character

Hand-drawn illustrations bring warmth and charisma to property marketing, ideal for countryside or heritage developments. We’ve combined illustrated layouts with local wildlife artwork to create a strong sense of place, helping smaller developments stand out and connect with buyers more personally.
